About EnableText
Built for Emmett.
Made for more connection.
EnableText started with our son, Emmett.
Emmett uses an eye-gaze communication device to speak. Like so many people who use AAC, he has plenty to say — but having a natural, ongoing conversation with friends and family can still be difficult.
We wanted to change that.
So we built EnableText.
Our goal is simple: help Emmett have more meaningful conversations with the people in his life, with a little help from AI.
Not just asking for things. Not just answering questions.
Real conversations.
Jokes. Stories. Pictures. What happened today. What someone did over the weekend. Something funny his sister said. A text from a friend just because they were thinking about him.
The everyday stuff that makes relationships relationships.
AI should help people connect.
EnableText uses AI to make conversations easier to start and easier to continue.
It can help a communicator find something to say, remember things about the person they’re talking with, respond to messages, share pictures, and keep a conversation moving.
The AI isn’t there to replace the communicator.
It’s there to help them say more.
Built by Mom + Dad
We’re Dara and James, Emmett’s parents.
We built EnableText because we wanted our son to have another way to connect with the world around him — especially with the people who already know and love him.
As we built it, we realized Emmett isn’t the only person who could benefit from this.
There are millions of people who have something to say but need a different way to say it.
EnableText is for them, too.
Everyone has something to say.
Sometimes they just need a better way to join the conversation.
